Is there a way to report a potential cheat?

I had total winning position with 56 seconds left on the clock. I tried to move but then my move appeared to undo itself. My clock kept running, but I couldn’t do anything. When my clock hit zero, opponent’s move jumped again, then I lost on time. When I cleared the message, it showed my clock at 56 seconds when the game ended.

It looks like you just disconnected or lost on time.

Your opponent had nothing to do with it.

/You had a mate in 2.

That is a very good description of what a disconnect from the live server can look like.

Maybe it was a disconnect. Just seemed strangely coincidental. My clock kept ticking, and then as soon as I lost, it miraculously reconnected?

We are all potential cheats.

You were definitely cheated I would ask for a refund. This is so unacceptable. SMH in disgust.

When the clock expired, it can't declare the result until it receives confirmation of the result from the server. So it has to refresh/reload to get that data if it doesn't see the connection.

Bishop-e3 Don’t write nonsense. Obviously you think like that so I suspect you are a cheat.

Feel free to report me bigboy -- LOL

It is easier just to block people who aren't playing fair.

There's so many cheaters it's pointless to report them, for every reported account Ten more pop up in their place ... And the cheating has gotten so complex and sophisticated that you're basically just playing a chess engine. It's like trying to remove trolls from social media it's basically impossible

I've finally decided to cancel membership, I question if it's financially viable for Chess . Com To weed out cheaters because of the economic loss .. Cheaters pay and contribute to As revenue.. 🤷‍♂️

Not that many cheaters in blitz or normal rapid compared to the large player base. Most people complaining about cheating just suck at chess

Avatar of BlindThief

Nope, no way to report. All you can do is find the cheater and sleep with his dad.

It sounds like a connection issue.  Long ago, when I played speed chess online that's the type of stuff that would happen. It turned out to be strength of signal or something similar.
