In coorespondence play you can use opening books but can you refer to endgame books?  Just curious.  It seems obvious using an endgame engine would be totally against the rules but what about studying an endgame book in regards to similar positions as the one you are in in the game?

For the record I've never done this but I just wanted to seek clarity in case it ever comes up.

Thanks,

Narz

Can you link me or guide me to anyplace that says no to endgame books?  I'm searching for this but am unable to find it.

Have found that you are not allowed to ue chess cmputers to provide assistance but nothing saying only some books are allowed.

"You can NEVER use chess programs (Chessmaster, Fritz, etc) to analyze current ongoing games unless specifically permitted (such as a computer tournament, etc). The only type of assistance allowed is games databases for opening lines in Turn-based Chess and Vote Chess. You cannot receive ANY outside assistance on Live Chess games."
