left-handed chess players

Is there a group for left-handed chess players?  I was reading the new forums just for the heck of it and I saw someone post about gay chess players and I had been wanting to post about left-handed chess players but I thought it would be kind of silly.  But these are all things that make us who we are and I would be interested in joining a group for left-handed chess players if there is one.

I am a left-handed chess player, and would like to complain about clocks being positioned on the right-hand side of the board in OTB games. Tongue out I for one prefer to make my moves with my left hand and this becomes rather awkward!

On a less ranting-about-nothing note, if a left-handed chess group gets founded I'll join it.

Celebane

Same here.

In OTB games, doesn't black have the choice of which side the clock is ?

Dee, you could create a group for left handed chess players. Seems you have a couple of members already to join...

 Keerect sir.

No, the clock is always on the black's right-hand side. This means that white has it on his left hand - making it awkward for right-handed players. So what are you complaining about?

Mm40

DPenn, I'll make a group for you and give you admin powers. If you want me to, message me.

I'm not saying I want to be a member, because I'm a righty Wink

I have a way of influencing which hand my opponents pick, so I always play the colour I want in school games. I wasn't really complaining, anyway, just a by-the-by.

Are there left handed mouses (mice?) out there. It would seem daft to have a left handed group, but we are all using our right hands. Unless your using a right handed mouse in your left hand - in which case you have skills.

ptownswim3

i'll join the group. I'm also left handed

victhestick

I have been practicing feverishly with both hands.

my mouse can be right handed or left. It's not curved specifically for either. If you want to use your mouse left handed all you have to do is go under mouse option on your computer and you can switch it that way.

Chamb

I am left handed, too.

Me too!

I'm left handed as well but I've got nothing to complain about since chess doesn't favor either or...   The group is a good idea though.

DPenn

I generally use my mouse in the left hand but I am kind of ambidexterous so I can really use either hand.

I think I am going to start a group with the help of Mm40 so I will give you all an invite when I get it going.  I am not going to be able to do much with it right now though because I don't have access to my computer at the moment and I am using a friend's computer (the friend happens to be left handed too but I noticed uses a right handed mouse lol)

where've you been all these years! I expect my rating to shoot right up now :)

malko

I'm left handed.

Actually, I believe that the player with the black pieces choosing which side the clock goes on is unique to uscf play/tournaments. This isnt the case in fide events.
