I am trying to find out more about what happened. I looked at the Climate Change thread's last 5 or so pages and didn't see anything very distressing (except the climate change). I am hesitant to make a deep dive into a 1289 page thread. I didn't see a lot of disagreement about climate change going on. Perhaps it had lost its major antagonists recently?

There wasn't a lot of disagreement, and the actual locking post has also been removed since I posted this.

It appears to anyone looking at the global warming thread objectively, that the mod who locked it had made a personal decision. The mod seems to have a personal beef with those participating in the thread and perhaps with Elroch, himself. There was no violation of TOS.

Sure. But "free from social constraints" might also entail "placing no expectations on society".
