Locking this thread - seriously mods??

Erik is a bit like Braveheart. If hollywood ever makes a film about chess.com, hopefully they will ask Mel Gibson to play Erik.

As I pointed out, I was basically told that I now need to be "super kind". And that came in a private message from the so-called leader of the mods. That is a prime example of different rules from different people since most of the time we are told to be "relevant, helpful and nice". But apparently the rules changed for me that day. (For another GREAT example, see this post: https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/lets-play-blindfold-right-now and notice post #2 and #3. Apparently there are no rules concerning this and mods can make it up as they go? Or as Erik says, it is ok and the mod who said no did not know that there is actually a policy on it.)

Not true. I was enforcing policy handed down long ago by staff. Never was it rescinded until erik's post, which settles the matter until he changes his  mind, if he ever does.

I dunno, but somehow your inability to get the name right of the guy you're working for as a mod does not seem to convince me of your attention to detail.

Guess I'm just overly critical. Yes, must be that.

[Fixed. Mod.]

I'm just glad that there's some engagement between Erik and form users. I hope it improves the site.

I don't want to keep doing this, but I just have to call this out:

Once again, a mod thinks that he/she is a better judge of the "usefulness" of a thread than the rest of us. V2 has not been completely phased out yet, and a mod decides to lock a thread on it because it is supposedly not useful anymore:

https://www.chess.com/forum/view/help-support/cant-switch-over-to-v2-anymore?page=1

Even if it had outlasted its usefulness, moreover (which it hasn't), why would you go out of your way to lock it? Last time I checked, most of the threads on the forums aren't particularly useful. None of the forum rules, which are supposed to be the "legal" grounds for deleting or locking a thread, state that a thread has to be "useful" - which in any case is not a decision for the mods to make. So once again, I'm afraid we're seeing an instance of overzealous policing from the mods.
