looking to build friend list

Greetings,

I would like to come here to play more chess, but I also would like to play within a network of players.  I prefer Livechess above all and I'm willing to dabble with speed chess but not all that much.

I'd rather be playing a group of players over time than let the matching engine sort me out.  I'd prefer to chat during the game, would be interested in any player who might want to start a Skype / Chess.com club for us to mic chat as we play.  

Interested in players anywhere in the world, almost prefer to meet people from all over. 

I hail from Iowa in the U.S. and I teach college history (for now).  I'm an adjunct which means I'm among the hyper-educated poor.

Sure. Maybe we can do post mortems and stuff? I'm just getting back into chess and think it would be cool to have chess friends. I don't do any speed chess though. I'm just not good enough.
