Muzzled is more like it. Why can't I access the message he sent me? Can he have no interaction with anyone here? I mean, OK, stop him from posting here for whatever reason, but why stop me from reading the message he sent me? Can it really be that dangerous?

Dashkee , there is still a way to get in contact : challenge him for a game and use the chat-option. I found that out the hard way.

@Itude: But I should make clear that even though I think it's wrong for us to call people names, I've called people "brain-damaged", "geniuses"(without meaning they were, at all), and other sarcastic slights. I get in pretty sarcastic moods, and I doubt if that will change in me. I'm far from a good example of how best to conduct yourself in the forums, and I certainly would not want that responsibility. Each person is responsible for their own behaviour;)

My "crime" was some months ago. I've had rehab and got back my speaking-rights after I wrote a letter to Staff and after 2 weeks they released me.
During my penalty I could not communicate with friends & vote-teams . You are not only banned from chat in the forum , but you are muted. The only way to communicate seemed to be the chat in a game.
My over-presence here can be explained by the thread-topic and the participation of some of the most destructive CC-members around.
Yup. An it would also be good to get an explanation of exactly what line was crossed, so everybody has a benchmark.

Some members who complain incessantly about name calling perhaps were once not so "nice" and they use the forums as a means to play with people and try to manipulate them into losing their tempers. Then these people suddenly become nice and smarmy and want to help change the tone of the forums. The psychology of that is fascinating, don't you think?

This is getting me to seriously reconsider renewing my diamond membership here. If he is banned, then ban him. If not, let me hear his side of the story, if not in this thread, then through a PM. Why won't staff let us know what is going on here? Did he post something extremely offensive (i.e., porn) or are the moderaters going overboard? I would like an answer. Thank you.

I don't know, but this thread has taken a very strange turn. Apparently someone got muted, but getting muted must be worse than being on a sinking boat in the middle of the Pacific ocean, because it's like the muted person has been trying to make contact with some Chess.com coast guards before he drowns! I'm really not sure what the heck is going on!
Maybe he's just muted.
