  • Wow!  'This post' is getting long!
  • I don't know how much more of this i can take!
  • This vigorous back and forth is getting me worked up!

(Note for chess.com staff:  The above comments refer only to 'this post.'  There is clearly no intentional ambiguity.  I swear.)

She said all three of those things.

QUOTE  littleman:   "what qualifies as "active player" is not too good"

You're probably right.  F'rinstance I don't think batgirl actually plays here but her input is prolific.

QUOTE  Evil Homer: Why do you care, what difference to you does it make and how will it change how you interact to this site.

It's a matter of general interest.  It may not alter how we interact with this site but, like no other site I've ever played on, chess.com invites participation by its members in many ways.  It's natural to wonder about the overall situation here, and that includes member numbers and "active players".  Some of us do, some don't.

Dear All

I am a member of another site - Instant chess.com ( coffee cup compatible )

I tried this site and liked it so, I joined whilst, in does not have as many interactive features as Chess.com it's a good site to play on and I feel they have the playing side of things spot on.

Chess.com is also a good site but not quite right for me, love the features but, not keen on the playing set up ( could this be a reason for people not staying )

The discussions, I find some are good and I enjoy the read. Others are annoying (I'm first, me second)  Yes it's annoying, you have to scroll through a load of waffle to reach a decent comment (could this be another reason for people leaving the site)

I feel these kinds of things are disrespectfull to the team who have spent the time and effort to set the site up, so lets show some respect and use the site as I am sure the team would like it to be used.

Now, I suppose someone is going to write ( that's what she said )

I enjoy a joke the same as anyone else but, even they can be taken to far

Don't let this site degenerate into just another chat room where chess comes second to the waffle.

I for one would join the site if it improves - and it wouldn't take much - but, at the momment, I feel, I can only watch and observe

Does anyone else feel the same as I do. Would be interested in your views of Chess.com, praise or constructive criticism.

Maybe the team could set up another tag on the menu bar solely for the purpose of seeing what people think of the site, maybe a multi choice quiz about the site to allow them some direct feed back.

With kind regards to All

Bonsai,

Thanks for your feedback, perhaps I will be more considerate of this in the future.  I agree about your idea to have chess.com discover people's feelings on this and other aspects of the site.

Haha, you must have had something sad happen to you today to have your feelings that touchy Bonsai! My goodness, though, your care and concern and feeling for this site (which you only partially like) is highly evident in your your sad, resigned, and forlorn comment!

Thanks, for the laugh!
