I'm not sure about that... but Cheater_1 can probably be getting paid by chess.com to keep posting his stuff. He talked about paid speeches once.
Erik seems like a very busy guy so the idea of him spending time to create tension and frustration in his own website is to me a ridiculous statement.

there is obviously no way to prove that i am not, but let me say this: i'm not. i can see why you might think that (trying to drive traffic/interest, just for fun, we both occassionally use CAPS for EMPHASIS, etc). but honestly, cheater_1 is so far outside my boundaries of morals/ethics/taste... trust me. i have MUCH better things to be doing.
but i do find him entertaining (except when he cowarded out of our chess game and made excuses, and when he called me a liar)!
i'll bet half the people on this site are the other half, too.
I am me... now that's a case of multiple personalities... considering the rest of you are still you.

I think that Erik is really a superspy and he's running a global spy network using a code that is based on FEN diagrams

While cheater_1 has done nothing wrong to get banned... If cheater_1 was an alt that would surely get the main account holder in trouble... but wait cheater_1 doesn't play any games, so unless the main account played in the vote chess game I think everything would be above board.
Not too sure on the exact rules ruling as I haven't really read the rules for this site... common sense seems like order of the day.
And with that I must get some water... hangover is killing me.

Well, I hate to bring an objective and logical comment into this thread but there is certainly some degree of proof that cheater_1 and erik are not the same person.
I have seen cheater_1 and erik post in the forums at the exact same second. If there was a 1 or 2 second variation, it would be possible that erik simply had both accounts logged in at the same time and submitted the post for one followed by a quick submission for the other. However the fact that these posts are made at the exact same second must indicate that cheater_1 and erik are not the same person.
Now as to whether erik is actually the site creator and isn't just faking it... well.

What if Erik and Cheater_1 were the same person? Erik has access to everything... Erik is quick and to the point(for the most part) and cheater_1 is long winded. So what if he is a just a victim of a mult. personallity disorder? Were here for you Erik... there's help out there you know.
