Oh, it's gettin' juicy. I'm getting some popcorn & watchin'

I suppose that the "no politics, no religion" rule should apply to this thread, which has way outlived its purpose.

This thread has to be locked, its name changed, as recommended in the (now edited) OP.

Go to my Closed Tourney thread, to see just how hysterical I am... lol

This sounds like Nazism. Censoring someone because you don't like their view.

Also, where did you ever get the idea that you could not make jokes about the holocaust in America? You can make a joke about anything and anyone and there is no legal recourse anyone can take against you.

The things you quoted are really only for clearcut cases of hate speech. There is absolutely no way it is going to apply to the comment you are addressing.

That comment was a comparison, not a joke or otherwise making light of what happened. ALbiet, a very distasteful one.

Peter innocuosly wrote an excellent, chess related piece:

Kasparov Granted Croatian Citizenship

See the thread that resulted. Those post were allowed to remain for quite a while. Ask any Croatian citizen what was said to them there. Message them and ask them what the "COMMENT DELETED" threads actually stated. I saved some of the post, in disbelief and contacted Peter Doggers. He had some of the most vile & violent threads removed. See for yourself and judge for yourself. Not Peters fault. I liked him at chessvibes and I like him here. It's a definite climate change as the site has globally expanded. I don't need to make this up. If you read, you'll notice yourself.

I'd be happy to show you similar Khanty-Maniysk thread hate. I only state the obvious. The climate has worsened and simply requires more adult management. This is unfortunate. And yes, I support solskytz.

If that's true, then there's a lot of Nazism going on at chess.com. A lot of people get censored because somebody doesn't like their view.

Yes. Banning people because of their views is very simialr to Nazism.

Now, banning someone because they make their user name too long by using 3 names, that might be a good reason for banning.

Everytime I see your name I think how serial killers are often called by their full names: Lee Harvey Oswald, John Wayne Gacy.....

That was the nicest thing anyone said to me all week.

I thought you were trying to lift me up with an off-handed compliment. But, then I realized today is only Monday(on this side of the earth).

Some people can't tell differences very well, so for them everything is "the same as".

It's difficult to reason with such people. They generally just can't see. I believe that this is what <IM Pfren> is referring to in post #2.

zenomorphy

Yea, ...I'm still trying to get my head around publically equating Nazism to mere censorship on an international site.

My kid's school district is gonna be upset by the new indictment. Who knew?

RonaldJosephCote

Are you talking about people who can't see the trees when the're looking at the forest??

sycophantastic

I all see when I look at a forest is potential.  Toilet paper, tabloids, and sheets of LSD.

I like how foreign people come to an American owned website, and try to push their censorship agenda that most countries have.

free speech, if you dont like something then either ignore it, or debate it. I do not know how things are run in your country, but here , we value these rights.

RonaldJosephCote

Well I'm glad to see that Gerry Garcia is visiting this thread.

Or the ground?

There was another thread in here recently that sounded racist, but wasn't. You had to read it 3 or 4 times to understand. A guy wanted to play just people from India, so he said something like, How can I just play Indians??  A few of us said what?? thinking he said, how can I play JUST Indians. After about 20 post, then we understood.

RonaldJosephCote

What I meant by the forest analogy was that some people wouldn't know racism even if it jumped up and bit them in the ass.

Clarifying an analogy with an analogy. Clever.
