Yes, I know the saying.

I just thought it was funny to use an analogy to clarify another analogy. Sort of like when we were in grade school and the English teacher taught how you cannot use a word to define itself.

IN fact, I agree about people not knowing racism. My favorite is when people try to take something and make it seem racist like this thread did.

Please note: I am quite blunt and often not tactful. Unless it is clear I am making a negative comment, it is safe to assume it was meant as a joke or a supporting comment.

3 examples;    A white supremist wants to kill blacks. Then he finds his own lineage has black blood in his family tree!  OH NO!  (2nd) The CEO of Smith & Wesson wants everyone to buy a gun. He helps the NRA push their aggenda. Then one day he gets a call from his daughters school and, (you guessed it), school shooting. His daughters one of the victims. (3rd). The CEO for general motors says, put the cheap part in the brake system but don't tell anybody. One day his daughter is killed in a car accident and the investigation revealed that the car would of stopped, IF it had the right part.

These sound like "monkey's paw" type scenarios.  You should have written for Rod Sterling's Twlight Zone or Night Gallery, man!

A lil poetry to remember, reduce the stress. It's art, not politics and I mention some chess.

Holocaust
by Barbara Sonek

We played, we laughed
we were loved.
We were ripped from the arms of our
parents and thrown into the fire.
We were nothing more than children.
We had a future. We were going to be lawyers, rabbis, wives, teachers, mothers. We had dreams, then we had no hope. We were taken away in the dead of night like cattle in cars, no air to breathe smothering, crying, starving, dying. Separated from the world to be no more. From the ashes, hear our plea. This atrocity to mankind can not happen again. Remember us, for we were the children whose dreams and lives were stolen away.

Some story 'bout horrors a so many nations, but memories fade with passed generations.

How we easy forget and history repeat, when people just let they consciences sleep.

It's 2014, Ukrainian Jew gotta register, but tupac ain't dead, n it's a new season a "dexter".

Yea, I met some ole Russian, told me some story, man I got up n split, 'cause that sh*t got gory.

But fo I had jumped ole dude showed me some chess, it's all good, but them stories depress!

keelof;   were good. solskytz and Zenomorphy were comparing, "the same as". I didn't want to chime in if I didn't understand what they were talking about. That's why I asked if it was the same as the forest anaology.

Slenderman is in the forest....

Some people don't know when to make a joke and when to just keep their mouths shut. Regardless of who is listening, they think they are the funniest people in the room. Shame.

I still don't get this, someone posts about starting a group for girls, some complain that men are discriminated, one poster answers that yes, Hou can really be compared to Hitler while male chess players are persecuted, and just think about what oppressors Pocahontas and Joan of Arc were. One other poster quotes this and questions the importance of Pocahontas et al. These posts are the two that are called "extremely racist" and allegedly show support for Hitler, and somehow make the thread about a group for girls a "Nazi thread" that now has been deleted. Tasteless is one thing, but how anyone could see "blatant Nazism" and something "extremely racist" in the girl group thread is beyond me.

chess.com, where threads made for recruiting woman into groups turn into Pro-Nazi agenda threads

I like how foreign people come to an American owned website, and try to push their censorship agenda that most countries have.

free speech, if you dont like something then either ignore it, or debate it. I do not know how things are run in your country, but here , we value these rights.

LOL it's hilarious that you name all non-americans as foreigners. You are even more crazy then i thought, so funny hahaha

Now here you at least have a thread that actually is about Hitler, and it sounds as if the OP admires him with all the "amazing" repetitions and dog lover stuff:

http://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/adolf-hitler---world-chess-champion-or-not?page=1

RonaldJosephCote

Here's how to get it. ALL threads start out with a premise. They then take on a life of their own. There's an ebb & flow to them. Breathing room. Comparisons are made. Miscommunication allways exist. But the hope is that everyone will contribute something productive & constructive. Now, an argument starts about he said, she said. This turns into yes you are, no I'm not. You must read ONLY what is there, and NOT read to much into them. Otherwise you get; "I never said THAT. Throw in the time of the day, a couple of double entendres, in an imperfect world. Sprinkle in perspective, tiredness, forgotton medication, and a lot of BIG EGOS. Not to mention a cespool of name calling. Stir for 60-100 post. Cook at 180 degrees, and serve slowly.

RonaldJosephCote

Fabelhaft;  your STILL not getting it. The thread you mention is not about hitler. Its a "what if" thread. hitler should not be tolerated anywhere on this site period. The man contributed absolutely NOTHING to mankind other than waves of negativity.

So a thread discussing Hitler's "amazing feats" and "amazing strategy" and his being a dog lover is actually not about Hitler because it also discusses if he would have been World Champion in chess if he had used all his "amazingness" in that field instead?

RonaldJosephCote

Yes, THAT'S what the OP is trying to do. Just like if I said; ya know, Nixon would have been a great president if he didn't get caught lying.  His "amazing strategy" came from his generals. He didn't love his dog. He gave his dog a scianide pill. I'm ignorant of any "amazing feats" that he saposedely performed.

solskytz

By now, the thread which was originally referenced at the OP has been deleted, as it should have been.

Thank you, chess.com staff - I knew that I could trust you.

In times of a holiday - Easter (which is a really important one, I know), which falls on a weekend, you have yet found the time to react reasonably fast - despite a huge number of members, threads, forums etc. - and do the right thing. I'm happy to be a part of this community.

Now, if you'd be so kind, please lock (or delete) this thread as well. I like to keep my content on this website strictly to chess and to friendly exchange. Too many entries on this thread fail to fall within either category.
