New: 4 Player Chess on Chess.com!? (Prototype)

Double Check Mate
LOL
Top Right is the Red player's Rook
Top Left is Red players Queen and Bishop
Top Right is the Blue players King + 2 Knights and the Right side the helpless Yello player's King

Amazing, @robert8867! I was hoping to see something like this! Also hoping to see our first triple check!

As a four player chess player myself. I would also like it if chess.com allowed en passant. As example of how it works (see OP's pic for reference)
1. Blue moves the pawn in front of the bottom rook forward 1. (b4-c4)
2. Red moves the pawn in front of the left rook forward 2. (d2-d4)
3. On the next Blue move Pawn takes en passant. (c4xd3)
From my experience playing 4 player chess, having the option of en passant in this case is really important, and can create some interesting strategical complications on the flanks. If you understand en passant in regular chess, the concept is the same.

Good point @fayfay1. Empassant was not added to avoid unnecessary complications for us and for users (that already have a hard time remembering which way the pawns go ), but it is definitely something we can look into adding.

I was able to reproduce several bugs - including the one where one player controls multiple sides. I think this is a nasty bug that needs to be fixed before this can go officially live. I played a four way game against myself just for fun and to see if there were any other bugs.
One additional bug I found is that if you accidentally close a window, there is no way to get back and the clock keeps ticking down making everyone else wait.

I have a three-handed chess board. Usually what happens is that the two weaker players gang up on the stronger player until we get into a three-way endgame. So the key is to try to position yourself well for the endgame; it doesn't matter if you hang a queen early on, as the weaker of the other two players will need your help to take down the stronger player and will therefore support you.
In a four-person game, I'm guessing there's something of a similar dynamic, but the fact that there are four people means that you can afford to let one person die so long as the weaker two of the three remaining people can still take down the stronger player.
Another interesting strategy sometimes seen in 3- and 4-person games: Person 1 puts Person 3 in check. Person 2 threatens Person 3's queen. Person 3 must save the king and let the queen die.

In the 4 player chess game I played, I had the brown color and it was not very easy to me to discern my pieces, because it lagged between the red, blue and green of my opponents. in my opinion the brown colour should be changed to a more intense color.

Question
Speaking of double checks --- when the extra points for a double check are awarded?
a) When I make a move that gives check to two different kings at the same time, is that a double check giving me extra points? :-)
b) When I make a move that give check to a king that is already in check by another piece, is that a double check giving me extra points?
c) When I make a move that gives check with two of my own pieces, to one single king of an opponent, is that a double check that gives me extra points?
Or all three of them maybe, or just two of these cases or just a single one ?

Finally, Erik has heeded my advice!

@robert8867 Double check happens in scenario A

Thank you very much and I really appreciate the effort, but I play chess to escape from madness, not to embrace it.

This is fun! I got 2nd the first try, and then I had an opponent who defeated the other two people (one resigned, and the other flagged). However, he had traded off so many pieces that he couldn't stop my attack.
I don't generally like chess variants, but this is fun!

4 player chess is not original for chess.com. Though, perhaps these specific rules are.
