I am trying to test this out for my son...

I have created a parent account and his account, but when I log on has him, and trying to play a 'Live Chess' game there are 0 players online?

I thought it might be parental control setting but I temporarily switched parental conrol off but that did not resolve the issue???

His computer

Vista 64-bit

IE 8

Thanks

Shaun

The Chesskid community is still pretty small. There might honestly be no players on-line.

Kacparov

yes of course

Jut found out about chesskid today, and have now put in my three oldest kids and myself there. Thank you, Erik!!

One question; my daughter have no problem with English, but my boys have. I know it's a huge job, but could we get some of it in other languages? I'm willing to translate it to Norwegian for free. (or for a discount on my kids upgrade Wink)

Try this

To translate Chess.com into your own language you can go to http://translate.google.com/translate_t and then put "www.ChessKid.com" into the "Translate a Web Page" and then put English as the first language and then your native language as the second language.

Thank you! Not perfect, but much better. My offer is still there; if you one day want to translate it to Norwegian please just contact me, I'll do it for free!

wannabeMaster

so I finaly got to forums. From losing to posting, nice :) ChessKid is a great idea! I will suggest it to my son. He's still sitting at facebook. I've even found him an icon online diary, called Daileez (www.daileez.com), he loves it, he keeps his diary, but he still looks like he's thinking the web is just about that blue site.

I hope he will like to play with me on ChessKid, if he doesn't? Argh, more searching...or I will ban it.

That's a very cute site. I'm just curious exactly what the purpose is. How would kids be more likely to enjoy that than this site?

SxB

Unfortunately the lack of players on ChessKid forced me to create my son an account here, also I wanted him to have access to Chess Mentor, which does not appear to be available on the kids site.

I am monitoring his use of the site and am fairly happy, but do like the parental control features on the ChessKid site.

Anyway my problem... the Videos on this site are too dry, for a kid, and I can't get my son to watch them, is there any chance that the Kids videos will be available here or that Platinum members here (e.g. my son) can get a free upgrade on ChessKid. This could stimulate usage of ChessKid???
