i don't mind people saying they don't like it, but

really? quite an overreaction i'd say.

sure, there are a few vocal people in the forums, but i have received much more positive comments than negative overall.

Anyone else getting horrible lag? It took me close to 5 minutes to log in and access the forums.

I agree. There seems to be a lot of drama along with the complaints.

Here's an idea. Maybe after a couple of days, you could post a poll on the main page, Erik. I think that may give you a more accurate idea of where people stand on this issue.

I just want to say that I hate the new chat program.....it has really slowed down my system while on chess.com and I always get the message that it is waiting for meebo.com.....I wish the staff would take this off of the site.....maybe we could vote on it?

or you can simply remove it by changing your settings, using a script blocker, or getting a membership?

i can't logon. it takes forever and a day..

I love it and for the ones that don't it has been said how to turn it off so just let the people who do like it, enjoy it and you can forget it was ever made

Hi Eric,

Where is the enter button to send the messages with?  I can type text but can't seem to send it.  Please tell me thats it not in the lower left hand corner of the text area. That part of the box is covered up by the share this page bar.  Need some help please.

I think it is kind of cool.  All you have to do is make yourself unavailable or sign off if you don't feel like chatting or want to switch back and forth doing more than one thing at a time as I always do...

It certainly caught me off guard.  I thought my Skype was open or something.  I usually keep any chat programs closed, but since I'm on Chess.com more than any other site, I'll see how this plays out before deciding what I want to do with it.  Regardless, as Erik said, it seems like an easy fix, so I don't understand the hostilities.  Regardless of how much I use it or don't use it, it's a nice new option to have.  Thanks for your continued dedication to improvement, Erik!!  Keep up the good work!!

I like the feature a lot.

I am having some problems though. It will sometimes log me off at a random moments. Then won't let me log back in again for varying lenghs of time. Some times it won't let me on at all. Some of my friends show as being online while others don't (or do they only show a friend as being online if they are available?)

LOL ... ain't it always the way, though? 

I gotta confess that I disabled mine immediately.  I'm not a very chatty person.

But it's another top innovation for the greater majority who enjoy chatting.
