New Site Design Feedback

Thanks to Erik & team for bringing the games in the center of our homepage & making "My vote chess" working as previously to show the games in the order of urgency of voting though still the analysis board of VC is inconvenient due to the board & keys situated on separate screens !
But 2 more things yet to be fixed are :-
1.This is a reminder to my previous demand - Our mobile using friend's are still away from adding their vote chess comments & are eagerly waiting to get this bug fixed !
2.The "Groups" option in the top menu bar is missing !
So,we are unable to find out groups other than our own on chess.com which is an important factor to be noted !

Can anyone tell me how to get on to my profile directly.I click on Home - profile- and it takes me to edit profile- then i save changes to go on to profile a bit long winded dont you think?
Go to Home and under your Avatar there is a link, Profile. That will take you to the what everyone else sees.

Thanks for all your hard work guys, the new site design is an improvement in funtionality and aestethics.
One specific item I'd like to mention that I miss though is the percentages of games won/lost/drawn that used to appear in the rating box. Its available on the stats screen but that means leaving the game screen.
Thanks again, looking great!
Doug
It is available on the Activity tab (which includes the 10 games). You just need to click the little toggle/arrow to the right of the rating to get it to show all that.

Just a suggestion: future site major overall should go tru a debugging stage called a beta version, where most of the problems would be adressed and solved prior to making the final switch to the new version.
The design did go through a beta stage and a lot of things were fixed in the 3 months it was running. I think the go-live was a bit premature as there were still bugs being posted about in the beta but if there is a next time, maybe beta will last a little longer.

I have not had a draw offer since the change, but I hope that you have made them more prominent. I have missed some offers in the past.

WHY THIS NEW FORMAT IS REALLY BAD.
on the old page i could bring up a game and i could "read" what i really wanted to know, the game at hand, my rating, how many games i had going, etc. almost everything i had an interest in was on a single page and if i wanted to browse the pictures or the forum the spot to tick was right at the top. now, it takes me from page to page to "read" everything.
just too much gimickry in the pursuit of cleverness.
IT IS A GIFT TO BE SIMPLE.
( go get a rake and make a simple drawing in the sand and you will find out what a gift simplicity is ...and it also an art ...)

FYI - Under the Share menu, you'll find Groups & Teams.

PLease remove the sign from this message box,it annoys the hell out of me to be told every time to be polite, helpful, and relevant.
This has already destroyed the jovial nature of this site.
100% this right here.
People who have something mean to say aren't going to change their mind because they read the generic comment about being helpful and I'm not particularly fond of sublimal brainwash tactics anyway. It's really hard to take these forums seriously when I see a kindergarten level "Remember, be nice guys!!" before I type anything in.

Having trouble seeing the list of ONLINE games vs. LIVE games of members. When I click on the GAMES Tab on a member's homepage all I see is one list, no indication if the games shown in that one list are Online or Live games so I have to work it out - no headings, no 2 lists, like before. Unless I've missed seeing links there.

Hi, Erik - nice job, overall. Other than that, it would be a nice feature if a corresponding 'moves list' could be shown somewhere near the small chessboard diagram when clicking on it within 'thematic'-type tourneys (i.e. on the main themed tournament page).
Clicking on the diagram there (as from before, with the old design) still does nothing; was only wondering if such a feature [the 'moves list'] was to be incorporated later some time in the future.

I can't quote at the moment.. was going to quote my last comment.
Problem sorted.. you have to click, click and click to find the right links to view the online games and live games archives. There used to be the 2 direct links on homepages with no searching required.. that was real handy as I use those links almost daily.

Instead of an "option to hide" your friends list, you should just have it be the way it used to be: Private! If you insist, make an "option to show friends" and see how many people choose this option!
Because if one person hides, an other person might not, etc. also with mentors, etc. etc. A big nuisance, takes away chessplaying time!
Also, what about the colored font option? I loved that in Vote Chess, livens up the comments.
I feel like this is the tip of the iceberg. i'm not even playing online chess right now, and think it best to wait for now.
I don't usually complain, but I adored the old site, one of my favorite refuges in the world! I wouldn't be so upset if I hadn't been so happy before!

I agree about the option to hide the friends list Allegretto.. I think most wouldn't bother to show it, what for? I'd prefer no option to show it than have no option to hide it. But Erik did say they are going to give that option soon which is good. :)

Useless for other to see but not useless to us. Meaning I often looked up my friend's list to see when a friend was last online last, or wanted to drop them a note when they weren't visible online.
Even in facebook everyone can hide their own friends list. Some people feel very strongly about keeping it private for their own reasons. They should have that right.

Well, that may be ideally, but as long as the way works is understood up front it's within your power to expose yourself to it or not (by not using the feature). Granted, when the rules change as they did it's a little. Ore complicated than that, and ideally you'd probably want to give people the control you suggest.
Fact is, though, the bulk of the power of social networks comes from the network being largely transparent. Otherwise it's only pseudo social.
Use the app robeena, that works fine. It's just navigating the website on the iphone browser that is borked.
