I agree. I got a new lay out for this page for my mobile. And it`s very frustrating. The old one was perfect.

The old one was/is awful, I have no idea why anyone would prefer it. The scaling of the boards alone makes it superior, imo. I'm really not sure why Chess.com has been dragging their feet for years in implementing it fully, honestly.

The vast majority of members have been using the Play interface, even before the notification of the retirement of the older interface.
The site doesn't want to maintain two separate interfaces and no new code is being added to the Live interface. While I don't know if there are going to be back-end changes in the future, but based on some staff information it is likely, so having the old interface will prevent those changes or they would need to update it. Add to that, having two interfaces increases support workload, partially due tickets being put in for missing features and work to determine where an issue is actually occurring.
And WHERE is the difference between Live Chess and Play Chess simply EXPLAINED ??
And WHY is it so hard to simply post a short written description of the differences between the two?? DUH??
it keeps crashing as well... in the middle of tournaments. Looks like its Lichess for me
It's had to believe (otherwise) that keeping our eyeballs (and presence on the site) is the ONLY and PRIMARY motiviation for recurrent BS interface changes. It's to keep RETRAINING us, and fomenting desirable clickbate. Ha!

I'm getting old I guess. I don't like it when websites change the layout- I'm already familiar with the layout, I don't want to re-learn it!
I really hate that when I try to click on the link to access the old site, it says "old chesss.com application" ... Application? It's a website! Why does apple own everything and why is everything called an App now?
I'm not a teenager or a middle class woman playing with an I-pod phone! As Ben Finegold says "tricks are for kids"... Apps are for kids.
I don't mind getting the live blitz chess updated, It's been glitchy for years. Back when the site first got it, it barely worked at all.
I'm old and cranky and I don't like change! There's my rant.
