I don't personally care if people see. Unlike you I don't take a chess site seriously enough to care who blocks me.
The point is its a bad mechanic for the site in general. It promotes harassment.
I tend to block people I don't want to team with ever again in 4-player variants. If you're playing four player and you draw the move that checkmates in one on the board for them and they don't play it and lose you your queen in the process because they "don't want to be your voodoo doll," blocking them is valid.
