We all get diamond membership once chess.com is forced to hand over everything to the occupants right?

I'm just posting here so that more bandwidth is occupied every time somebody opens this thread

I feel that a very important movement like this needs some sort of anthem and/or march of adequate dignity and beauty. I would like to nominate the wonderful march made famous in " The Bridge On The River Kwai " movie. For the younger members of the movement this beautiful music is entitled " The Colonel Bogey March "--- Long Live The Colonel !!!

After occupy Wall Street, solidarity occupations in other major cities have sprung up.  Now, finally, those of us less inclined to visit the outside world, particularly when it's overrun by students, have a venue all to ourselves.

chess.com; consider yourself occupied.

Ironic that your name is theoreticalboy...

#UPDATE: we are now being joined by at least one major teacher's union.  This is a great day for all those committed to justice and waffle irons on chess.com.

I got my bongos in my bedroom Kram, what shall we play a duet on?  Cool

#UPDATE: we have far too many bongo players, people; we need to vote on which one to kill and eat to sustain our movement.

Well I do have a $2,500 TAMA drum kit set-up in the attic, does that help?   Cool

Okay, we're eating akintews, unless he buys 50 large pizzas.  You know, to sustain our movement.

Avatar of oinquarki

I'm pretty much against eating akintews....unless, of course, he taste like chicken.

We will never know if he does unless we taste, and if he doesn't we can't let him go to waste. Whether you are against it or not, it will happen.

Haha.  Megaphones aren't allowed.  The "real" protestors are using a human megaphone.  The mouthpiece sings out and all the protestors follow.  I heard it on the radio and found it rather amusing.

Like this one, the Wall Street protest seems a bit dumb.  Most of the interviews I've heard, the protestors are early twenty youths there because, "Um, well, ya' know, um, coroporations..." than I assume they wander off.

We need guys like akintews out there!  Those folks knew how to throw a protest.  They had the dogs sic'ed on 'em and the fire hoses turned on.  They were, often, even able to articulate their greivances.  Now, that's a protest!

Avatar of theoreticalboy

Obviously, not everyone there is articulate (yet), but you seem to be acting rather credulously if you believe everyone is represented by the people chosen by a media intent on ridiculing everyone, poison.  Have you read any articles that have come out of it?

Avatar of bigpoison

Read?  You expect me to read?  I'm an American!

I didn't mean to come off as credulous, and to be fair, my information on the protest(s) is limited to a single source:  NPR.

I really haven't an informed opinion on the matter.  I, long ago, accepted that this world is one big shit sandwich and everybody has to take a bite.

I know that I'm jaded and I don't mean to erect any barriers to idealistic youth.  I was just goin' for some laughs.
