Is it me, or when the more serious games begin. I guess round my rating, these openings bedome kinda tedious. Like, i know that you know... and yes you are good, but im better. No im better, i learned this. That mayb so...

Well, thats mayb another part, but the opening become so standard, u might as well skip the first 8  moves. Do some of you get what im saying here. It kinda takes a lot of fun away if you ask me. Like it becomes too serious or somethin.

You don't have to learn openings more than a handful of moves deep until getting much stronger than you or me. It's fine to play on opening principles if you have a good thought process and think carefully about each move, assuming you're playing at a slow time control.

Most of us find though that we want to look up our games after we've analyzed them and see where we deviated from what are regarded as the best moves, and over time we learn a move or two here and there and our openings slowly improve.
