What’s up with the algorithm that picks who I play against? It put me up against a player 500 points better than me in a 30 minute rapid game. Of course l lost, but I a least lasted 32 moves…let him pin my knight to my rook with a bishop, it went to hell from there. Is this pairing normal? A glitch? A way to see how well I do against really good players? Inquiring minds want know.

It will pair you with someone that matches your seek settings and where you match theirs

The elo system here isnt true. You start from 1600 and not from 0 point and then jump 50 elo up or down and not 1 point up

I have no clue what you are talking about. The elo system can be based on any starting rating, as it is "valid only within the rating pool in which they (sic) were calculated." Please provide your source.

The previously stated article proves both of your arguments incorrect.

you can always refuse playing awkward matchings

Ya! I know what you mean. In the last week or so I’ve been mismatched WAY beyond my settings (which I’ve had forever) it is really strange. I “reset” my same settings and it is still doing it. The app looks different too. I think they are changing things but haven’t worked out the bugs yet.
