As you may know for our basic members we had our tactics puzzle decreased from 10 to 3....I want to start a petition that will encourage Erik to increase it up....(even to 4 or 5) Type your name if you agree! or just say "I agree". Thanks!

Just a suggestion, but perhaps you could explain to your parents how much you enjoy playing chess, especially on this site, and ask them if they could pay a bit for membership.

chessfanforlife

They rather pay in real life teacher-student that virtural...Cry

BenjaminGDelaCruz

But...that would cost way more. Also, wouldn't it be better to have a real chess teacher than a computer? Why not allow them to pay for one? Laughing

fbemporad

Well... Instead of increasing the number of puzzles... Why not decrease prices for youngs? What about a discount for the membership of young (for example under 14) members?

ozzie_c_cobblepot

How do you verify age?

chessfanforlife

I have a picture of my self....

jay

Even an 11 year old kid can make $30 in a few days of hard work. I had a paperroute when I was your age. Maybe a lemonade stand? Collect some cans and recycle them? Go mow some lawns? Babysitting? Anything is attainable if you want it bad enough. :)

ozzie_c_cobblepot

I believe you when you say your age.

But, how does the website guard against people sending in pictures of random people who satisfy the age requirement? They can't use the same as the titled player system (where you can fax in a piece of identity or something) because there would be many more people who fit the requirement, so it can't be that manual.

erik

i did so many things for money when i was a kid. mow lawns, recycle cans, door-to-door stationary sales, sold old toys/books, clean pools...

so here is me crying a fake tear for you - go sell your gameboy or linkin park CDs!

Ha that was kind of harsh but funny erik. I do kinda understand why though. I mean if you can't pay just use the service that is allowed, there is enough on this site for players that do not have expendable income. If we don't seperate the payed members from the free ones then people won't have much of a reason to pay and then chess.com goes down. I love the site and plan on upgrading again sometime in the future.

I agree

MapleDanish

Sell my linkin park CD's?!  Never!

jameschen0

Eh; how about you just put a lot of ads on the site?Laughing

(Then you can increase the amount o.0)

Tell them it isn't any different from a magazine subscription.  Actually, for what you get here, it blows away most magazines.

AndreaCoda

Totally second all the comments!

It is incredible what you already get for free (unlimited live games, unlimited turn based games, playing in tournaments, access to the forum...).

We cannot expect people to work for free, and I don't really think we can ask more than this!

I am a parent, and if my daugther asked me (so little) money for a cause like this, I would say " yes" on the spot!

You have broadband access I believe, so your parents must be tech savy - and I am sure they are reasonable persons! Wink
