Play Against the Computer

I am not happy with the play against the computer upgrades.  The loss of the (+ -) computer scoring hurts my annalysis of my openings.  Additionally, the new chess pieces are cumbersome looking and at an odd angle compared to what existed before.  Also I no longer have a choice of board size.  Supposedly, I was to get more levels of play, however, the easy medium and hard hard levels have only been supplimented with with their relative strengths.  This is not an upgrade.  This bastardisation of the computer chess program is markedly worse than what it replaced.

nice use of "bastardisation" - and quite the hyperbole to boot!!

the +/- will return.

you can change the pieces.

you want a tiny board back? we'll see if we can do that.

the computer is actually finally "easy", no?

Hi Erik,

I just got done playing against the computer today and the + - scoring has not returned.  Additionaly, I was unable to figure out how to change the peices.  More importantly, on top of the that I just beat the computer on the Hard level (2000+) in 14 moves.  I am not that good of a player, in fact I was not even playing very well.  The computer missed a backrow checkmate threat on your hardest level, a mistake an expert or master would never make.  I have included the annotation for the game below.  I played white while logged in against the computer.

Me White Pieces                                  Computer Black Pieces
