Player of the Month Thread of the Month - September 2010

Yes, it's that time again:

We have four candidates for "Player of the Month Thread of the Month" this month, but only one can be voted the best.

The candidates are:

Thread 1 by proKnight98

Thread 2 by atudor

Thread 3 by atudor

and finally

Thread 4 by ilikeflags

The rules are as follows:

  • Vote lobbying is allowed, but only by posting links to this thread in the threads in question
  • If I don't like your votes I will ban you
  • If you question the officialdom of this thread and process I will ban you
  • Threads can be voted for as many times as you'd like, so vote early, and vote often.
  • Finally, I can't be bothered to track or tally any of your votes, so I'm just going to arbitrarily pick a winner at the end of the month.

Let the fun begin!

I'm going to have to vote for Martin Heidegger, who said:

"Why are there beings at all, instead of Nothing?"Laughing

Absolutely hilarious!Laughing

TheGrobe

Someone needs to do a "Hurt/Heal Hurt/Heal Threads".

I'm a big fan of meta-voting.

WHICH OF THE COLORIBEST??

TheGrobe

This thread is ineligible.  It is a "Thread of the Month" thread, not a "Player of the Month" thread.

Kacparov

I say Proknight's one first then Flags' one

theoreticalboy

flags's's's's's, if only because of the way it gracefully stopped, rather than vomiting all over the forums then plunging to a noisy doom like atudor's first one.

I'm finding quite ludicrous that a kid was running a monthly thread to choose for votation a member to give to him a prize of chess player of the month and then there came some adults trying to appropiate the contest

Phil_A_S

I want an answer to my question anyway. Is colorful good as well? Also, ilikeflags's thread wins with me.

What I find even more ludicrous is that, after mocking the kid for his hard work, the adults are the ones who failed miserably.

TheGrobe

Mightn't it be easier for everyone within that clique to simply save everyone the related drama, get together within whichever one of their groups is most appropriate, determine who they'd like to be the chess players of the month for each of the next 12 months, and then just let the rest of us know?

Everyone else's ongoing participation seems pretty superfluous.

There you go again, TheGrobe, attempting to apply logic to the interactions of humans.  Presumably.

Its highly illogical isn't it?

TheGrobe

But people are so rational.

bigpoison

Oh, and, shouldn't this thread have been started by a staff member to ensure that it is official?

Does the winner get a real prize?

TheGrobe

Yes, they are crowned the official player of the month thread, and only their winner can truly claim to be the player of the month.

That is, of course, unless another player of the month thread of the month thread is created that is more official than this one (i.e. by staff as bigpoison suggested), in which case that threads determination will of course, supercede this one's.

Worst case (if the competing thread is created by someone other than a staff member) we have to have a "Player of the Month Thread of the Month Thread of the Month for September 2010" vote.
