I think the submit button shouldn't be between things you go back and forth between regularly.  One might accidently click submit as they are thinking and moving the cursor around, especially on a laptop which can be touchy with clicking sometimes.

It looks ok but it's really busy and I don't think it's an improvement.  There is an awful lot on the page.

I think I like how it looks now.

Looks nice!  There is a site at which the "Message/Chat" window only shows up when someone has actually typed a message, otherwise it's hidden behind the Moves.  Would something like that be possible?  though I think this new moves box might be purrrfect.

I like the new layout.  I ALWAYS use the moves tab to remind myself of the flow of the game, having to switch to it every time was silly.  Just that change alone will be a vast improvement.  :-)

i like the clean look of the old one better, not so much info all in your face.

i like the fact that a link to the book opening has been added.  very nice.  Still, I agree with others that submit and cancel should be at the bottom: feels more "natural".

Yeah, I'd like to see the draw offers bigger and better. I find people miss them all the time and you have to offer a couple times before they notice.

Well, I like the old interface, it's more simple. I think it is OK and I don't quite like the complicated new one. By the way, I guess you could make the Message tab visible when my opponent typed a new message.

I think that Unrated games should be labled as such right next to or beneath the game title.

Or provide some kind of indicator on the Tab itself -- colour, flashing, an asterisk?

I like it!  GREAT IMPROVEMENT!

i'm working up something simpler...

I think the current appearance is great. The 'improvement' looks like too much information IMO.

I like the way the captured pieces would be directly visible - instead of going to the Details tab.

Instead of saying: show rating adjustment - could you not show the rating adjustment directly? (It seems to occupy about the same amount of space.)

I'd asked this question at one point a long time back -- it takes a material amount of server resources to do the calculation, so it's only done when it's requested.

An alternative might be to dump the calculation down to the client side, though -- send the parameters and the formula down and have the heavy lifting done by the user's computer....

One common request is to show the moves tab first. But then you miss the messages. It's a no-win situation on which to show first.

You could always show the Details tab first, and also mark the Message tab with a red * or in the case of a new unread message.

Probably wouldn't work with an Iphone/Palm/Blackberry device.

Well, the option to preview the rating change isn't currently on the mobile platform anyway, so it shouldn't really be an issue.

I really like it the way it is right now. As for the one Erik showed us, it looks quite cool too. The "Draw, Resign, Analysis and Skip" buttons are in a nice place. Anyway, if the Submit and Cancel buttons are at the bottom, it would create a sense of familiarity :)

I don't mean the mobile application - I mean mobiles/smartphones/pdas which access Chess.com through the WWW.
