"Has been" submitted, weak writing

"Your move has been submitted" is weak writing.  "Your move was submitted" is a stronger, more concise statement.

I'm aware movies on television use the same weak phrase to tell us the movie "has been" formated and "has been" edited when using "was" more concisely provides the same information.  Chess.com can be better than that.

I totally disagree.  "Was" denotes a definite past time- it's past tense. "Has been" denotes a time that just transpired or referenced by the present time,- it's present perfect tense.

Crazychessplaya

"Move submitted" FTW.

No fair throwing around terms like "present perfect."  That's like using math to prove a math problem.

But yeah, "has been submitted" is fine.

Batgirl is right.

You're looking for stuff to complain about. It'll be more rewarding if you just go outside.

"You submitted your pathetic move; Why do you even bother trying?" is an even stronger statement.

I kinda like it!

It seems the OP believes that the greater part of the world's troubles are due to questions of grammar... :D
