I get pretty random ones every few days or so, and if they're from really new accounts that already have hundreds or thousands of"friends", I usually don't except them
I am also receiving these, and I got a couple of messages as well from random people.

If I got a pound for every time a random person me a friends request and then Sent a DM saying hi... I'd be pretty well off lol

Isn't there some kind of rule on chess.com that disallows inviting random strangers to all kinds of weird clubs?

No but in settings you can turn off club invitations and then nobody can send invites to you then.

Most times, people want to have lots of friends in their list and basically sends friend requests to as many as possible.
Chess.com even has achievement for some number of friends you have...

this seems unrelated, but this feels like roblox, only that we're playing chess
like, shouldnt it be like you know about them a little?
in the first day of school, usually you introduce yourself, and the others introduce themselves. but random friend requests are like, before school starts, you're in the room and then someone goes to you and says "want to be friends" even though you don't know them at all (because they're new) so you get a little weirded out

This is happening to me now and exceedingly annoying. I'm getting maybe 10-20 friend requests a day. I've never accepted a friend request from someone I don't know in real life. This just started happening around august 15. Since I started writing this post, I've received two more.
