RATINGS

Last night, i finished playing chess with a rating hovering around the 800 mark. This morning i log on to my chess account and my ratings had dramaticaly increased to 1200, without me having played a game. It is not the first time this has happened and it is quite annoying. I want my ratings to increase/decrease through my own merit.  Why does this happen and if so how can i prevent it from arising in the future?

You have two different ratings.

Your live chess rating is currently around 800, and your turn-based rating is 1200 at the moment because you have not finished a single turn-based game.

EDIT: You actually have multiple ratings, blitz, standard, etc but the above is what's relevant.
