Seriously, people? The biggest chess event of the year just ended an hour ago, and we're back to talking about rematches??
rematch etiquette

.. you can politely say, [please don't quote that type of language -- MOD]
That in itself is an achievement...

Hi, this is my idea...
1) Always accept a rematch if you won, unless you have to leave the website
2) Don't offer a rematch after you win two times in a row, in this case should be the opponent to ask for a rematch

When you play as white you have the advantage. People who don't give rematches lack class
Is not true.
Depends When you play and depends how much time you have to play.
When I can, I accept a rematch, when I can't... Not.
Is not matter of class or not.
Mmm Hmm. Someone has been diving into the old threads again, I see.
What do you mean? Can you elaborate on that?

There is a large percentage of people on this site who will abort games as black and only play as white who won't give rematches. I'd also like to clarify I am only talking about speed chess
You should offer/accept rematches when you want to play another game with the same person. You should decline/not offer rematches if you do not. No need to overthink this.

I realize I may be a touch hypocritical here since i get very annoyed when people don't resign a queen down, but it's astonishing how upset people get when I refuse their rematches. One guy was obviously just playing for time in a blitz match and kept moving his pieces back and forth as early as the fourth move. He didn't even try and play reasonable moves. After the third game of this, I decided I'd had enough silliness and I declined his rematch offer. He then flew in to a rage and hurled all manner of profanities at me (getting around the filters by using underscores - that needs to be addressed somehow). I guess his rage finally got the best of him, though, because his account was closed a few minutes later. I pity his computer as well as the furniture in his room after that happened.
Some people are so narcissistic (or just plain sociopathic) that it never crosses their mind that their own behavior may be the cause of a rematch refusal. It's always their opponent who is being a jerk.
i have won many a times with a queen down only to lose with a rematch.
All I can say about giving the opponent who lost the first game though is, it all depends upon the discretion of the winner. but, for sure, truly honorable and gentlemen/ladies, will surely oblige to give rematch. Why? because that's the only honorable thing to do. If you lost the rematch and the opponent is again asking for another game, you can politely say, [that language is not needed -- MOD]
