Revolt towards my avatar and theme

I've noticed lately that people seemed freaked out by my avatar (and perhaps my theme also). One person reacted so negatively that I had to spiral the two of us into a heated discussion about the matter. 

However, I see no reason for any type of negative reaction like that. Let me clear it up.

There is nothing wrong with having a picture of your favorite anime character as your avatar, nor is there anything wrong with creating and/or using a theme based on said character.

Perhaps some people are not used to horned 11-year-old girls with big eyes and violet hair. The real reason, I don't know.

However, that leaves no reason to have a cyber-spaz session on my forums and messages just because one feels queasy to the stomach after seeing my avatar. Other people use manga pictures as their avatars too -- hundreds, perhaps thousands or even millions of them (some of them pornographic). Nobody gets freaked out by those (yes, even the porn ones).

Although I am a boy, there is nothing wrong with using something that represents one of my many hobbies as my avatar. It just so happends that my favorite anime character is a (horned, lolita) girl. It's not offensive to anyone's morals or ethics -- I made sure of that. It's also not meant to give people any bad opinions or impressions about me.  

Therefore, there is no reason for anyone to be revolted at my avatar (or theme) just because its user is a boy. If you are in some way, that's your fault -- you don't have to be revolted, but you decide to be. 

Oops .. Sorry,I thot/assumed  u r a girl .. but I think,it's strange that Anyone wld not like yr Avatar .. I think it's very nice n' cute ,act .. :)

It's okay. I tolerate people assuming I'm a girl because of my avatar. 

I also agree that the avatar's very cute. That's why she's my favorite character. 

And no, I don't think it would be anything like that. I sent an innocent game request to someone, and he just spazzed out on me, telling me how scared he was of me -- just because of my very cute avatar!
