What did name 2Q mean? Was he same person as YGNR... and how could he have 1000 account? Why didn't they tag his IP adress?
2Q is an urban myth...

Cheaters are disgusting scum. If you can't just get online and play chess and live with your own results, go fck yourself. You make me sick, and you have some kind of mental illness.
1000 accounts equals 3 accounts a day for 2 years. Think that's not possible ?
LOL ! Then you know nothing. 2Q made a dozen accounts on a daily basis. A master.
But times have changed. His new accounts get deleted as soon as they are created. He's fallen on hard times, superior detection has just about ended the futility.
How is he a master... he sounds a bit silly?
Am sorry but nobody can make a dozen account a day...
2Q had maybe 12 or 15...
Hey don't attack me please... i don't know who he was... and i have never cheated?!
I have never cheated question mark???????????????????
thx fot that, what about YGNR? was he same person? And why bother?
At least hacking is semi productive...
1000 is simply the lower limit. Persons can create any number of simultaneous accounts from multiple computers with a single connection. 2Q's method was accessing old, abandoned accounts from obscure email servers, requesting new passwords and hijacking the account. This technique is now prohibited.
Stop picking on me fork face... i have never cheated, not one game...
Your the one who put the question mark. So was it an accidental question mark the first time you said you don't cheat, or did you forget the question mark the second time you said it?
YGNR was obviously an account of 2Q. One thing he lacks, is creativity in new usernames.
"Posting style" is something else. Taking on multiple personas can be an "art." Deceiving the general public is the challenge, one that some become extremely deceptive in their quest.

Wasn't the most recent one like droreo or something?
Like I said, I play at another site, of which I prefer the interface. CC has improved, with it's options, but out of "principle" I choose not to play here for several reasons. I discuss those reasons elsewhere, in the hope CC will make needed improvements.
I feel we can relax the 2Q1C discussion restriction now, because we actually haven't seen him in ages: that or he is behaving himself, which is fine with us.
He is definitely not the same person as the more recent return trolls we've been dealing with, of whom we have two separate ones, although they've also both dropped off in frequency the last few weeks. There are factors other than the stylistic differences that makes me 100% certain of this.
YGNR typically invites racist comments by asking things like "Why aren't there more black grandmasters?" but also posts highly misogynistic material as well and often insults others.
ChiefOnion posts nonsense topics but also some quite normal discussion as well: he was initially muted for anti-semitic attacks in the forums and then banned for repeatedly creating mute evading accounts instead of apologising for his comments and committing to keeping those opnions to himself.
Like 2Q, it's clearly the attention that these people crave, so let's not give it to them folks, and they'll go away eventually, even if that seems to take ages.
Please remember the Chess.com policy about not discussing cheating in the public forums: I know that's hard when a member has been banned for Fair Play violations, but take it into a private club or messages. But I will say that the Chess.com Fair Play detection team acts when they are very, very certain - certainly way more than the 3/4 I've seen mentioned elsewhere.
I refrained from posting here for a few days to let the dust settle a bit, but since seemingly that is not going to happen soon, I will post my thoughts about this case anyways.
SCM was a nice guy, he liked trolling but he rarely went further than a bit of light-hearted banter. As usual, when there's a troll involved everyone ends up talking about the infamous (and thankfully gone) 2Q1C, but those two had nothing in common.
Apparently he was cheating, and chess.com usually errs in favour of the accused rather than the opposite, so it's likely this was the case. I know some of you will argue that a true nice user would not cheat, but that's what I feel about this topic.
By the way RJC, witch hunts are not trendy this century.

While i had nothing personal against scm. He added nothing to the site. Just another young person that thought he had reinvented the wheel in trolling. When in reality, it was just more of the same. He was in a group i had started. Contributed nothing, and when i kicked him out, he kept messaging me apologizing, and saying he was sorry.
In the end, he was just another youngin that was either emotionally, or mentally immature, that was seeking the acceptance of anyone, or anything.

Call me crazy, but is this not literally giving the spotlight to the troll? TP can go on with his (valid) statements, but if the end goal is for this to be a chess site, then why are we divided over something that will have absolutely no impact on the general public's lives?
Also, may I politely ask what your old account was? Surely you know too much about 2Q and the whole of this website to have truly joined in 2018.
Because...
1.Trolling will never stop.
2. chess.com has decided not to stop it.
3. People love to discuss it. aka: attention.
