brotha gotta goon and keep with life, the rating will be always where it should be, if u are lower than ur real rating its just a matter of time, its just a number after all

Do whatever you think is "good," and you won’t fail… probably...

If playing chess doesn’t make you happy, why are you playing it? lol. What a no brainer.

I only play chess for 2,5 years with a 1 year break. Never played before, I am 47 now. I am way below your rating. I think the main reason for a tilting, having a losing streak is that you worry about losing. With that comes behaviour that leads to being less concentrated overall or playing when you are not physically and mentally fresh which can also reduce your capabilities.

Additionally you have be aware that the whole rating system leads to a position where you win some games, lose some games, draw some games. Losing is part of the game and you should start thinking about how you can use lost games and even "enjoy" it. I think that is "easier" in longer rapid chess games that I play, 30 min, but maybe that is one advice for you at the moment: try another, slower format. It is still chess.

And then you also should realize matching and rating algorithms are not an exact science. You will not get matched with equally strong partners and you might get matched with 10 much stronger players in a row as you might get matched with 10 much weaker players in a row.

Regarding questions of other users here why you play if you are not enjoying it: I can fully understand that. You like the game, you like the challenge but of course it doesn´t feel good if you are constantly losing and you also don´t want to lose chess as a game in your life. Playing bots doesn´t really help as playing bots is not the same at all.

Last but not least: maybe this article helps: No More Tilt: 5 Ways To Prevent Tilt In Online Chess https://nextlevelchess.com/no-more-tilt/

Are you focused only on playing and gaining rating points (or putting some sort of mental esteem value on rating), or on trying to improve, while having other things to do (Golf, video games, or other activities?). Have you spent time on trying to improve and looking at your games to understand what you need to improve, or just spamming multiple blitz games at once?

Find out what you need to focus on improving. Tactics, positional play, openings, endgames, or everything?

If it's tactics, buy the software called CT-Art. Thank me later.

(CT-art has all of M.blokh's (RIP) problems from his excellent book "Combinational Motifs", as well as other exercises and lessons) and is FAR, FAR better to study than doing ANY sort of puzzles on chess.com (whether or not you are premium) or lichess, due to the algorithm used for online websites generating puzzles from database games (2+ candidate moves giving an advantage instantly ends the problem, etc).

If it's general understanding, first start with Jeremy Silman's How to Reassess Your Chess, follow this book with the book "Pawn Structure Chess" by Soltis (be careful, there are multiple revisions of this book--get the one written in the 2000's, I forget, I think the latest one was like written in 2008 or something), and then follow that with the excellent (although a bit too wordy at times) "Art of Attack". For endgames, a great start for basics is Jeremy Silman's complete endgame course. Once you do all of these books, then move on to some of Mark Dvoretsky's books and Artur Yusupov's books. I highly recommend doing the "School of Future Champions" series by Dvoretsky, if you only have to choose one series, as I found this most helpful from his books.

Then you can combine this with the book "Think Like a Grandmaster" by Kotov, which will teach you how to analyze and calculate accurately. Keep in mind that this isn't for blitz or online games. All of this is based on classical chess.

And do your CT-Art courses while doing all of these books.

Do all of this, and your rating will skyrocket. And try playing OBO chess with classical time controls if your life situation allows this.

Bots, bots, bots... it does not mean anything. Enjoy it or hate it. Get angry!! It does not mean anything. Report bots, get more bots than ever. Complain about bots, massive losing streak to punish you like a child!! It is funny really! Play people! Join the Russian chess platform. They have honour.

Interesting responses. I don't know about you but if I'm not improving, I'm not having fun. Although winning is one indication of improvement, it's not all of it. I just started a little over a month ago and wasn't having that much fun at first because I kept losing and there were a lot of fairplay rules violators. But I love the puzzles, drills, lessons, the game reviews, etc. Yes, I'm paying a membership fee but honestly the prices are reasonable and the difference of how much fun I'm having is huge. The rate at which I'm improving is huge. I'm only at 300 but when I play bots I have put them at over 1000 elo to be challenging. It's incredible how strong players are even at my level. So, I don't freak out about losing even a few games in a row anymore. You might say it's cuz I just started and my rate of improvement is accelerated in the beginning but I wasn't improving until I started doing some homework and applying it. I mean it helps to have access to the activities on the site but you don't have to.
