Site Features & Updates - 6/12/2008

I was looking at the explorer for all chess.com games and to my surprise saw that e3 was the third most played move behind e4 and d4! I would have guessed that at least c4 and Nf3 would be in front of e3.
By the way, the game explorer is awesome!
We made some pretty big updates today :)
- Games Explorer
- Book Openings
- Games Database
We're especially excited about the ability to explore your own games! (For example, check out how well I do against certain openings: http://www.chess.com/explorer/index.html?id=1&ply=1&black=0&db=3&player=erik - if you want to beat me as black, I guess you should play 1..g6!!)
Next, we've started to integrate Live Chess more into the site! Now you have a Live Chess home where you can see your games, stats, friends online, etc. We are also going to be making our most important updates to the Live Chess server this weekend - wish us luck!
The Navigation Menu Bar has been updated to be simpler, with more helpful pages when you click on the main links (click on READ for example).
Other fixes:
- you can now submit more than one LOCAL CLUB / ORGANIZATION
- added your own points to the http://www.chess.com/tournaments/leaderboard.html page
- removed the SUBMIT button in turn-based chess if you use auto-submit
What is next for Chess.com? Team competitions! Groups will be able to play Vote Chess games against each other or matches where you play your best players against the best players of other teams :) That will probably take a few weeks! We're also working really hard on Live Chess and will make improvements to the Explorer & Games section.
Thanks for all your great suggestions and support!
