Even though I work here, I have to say the games explorer is awesome!! Good job Kristof!  I love how I can confirm my suspicions that I'm horrible against the french and the center counter. But don't mess with my king's gambit! 71% win ratio! woot woot. LOVING IT!

(Now its time to research what Yelena loses to the most....oh yeah, she's undefeated..nevermind.)

Excellent update... lots of good features. I especially like that while perusing the Games Database I can specifically say "only view chess.com games".  :)

I was running one of my older games through the game explorer to get a feel for it and there came a point where the only match to the moves of the line I chose was a game from one Wall, Bill.  I guess I'm in good company lol

Wonderful!

Question: when will Chess.com officially come out of beta?  In it's current form, it is already superior to all other chess sites that are way past their beta stage.  Laughing

This is excellent stuff.  Thanks for all the hard work.  Laughing

Have you considered one day allowing someone to search the Explorer by entering a FEN value?

Good suggestion...will pass the idea along.

 hahaha. i think you're right :)

so, there are 2 things that need to happen before live chess exits beta:

#1 - live chess needs to be much more stable and have a few more solid features (pre-move,  blocked users list, add friend, and a fwe other tweaks)

#2 - i need to think of how to make the logo look good without the little orange beta!! those little orange letters add quite a bit of balance in my mind. i have thought of replacing it with "ENJOY" or "HAVE FUN" or "THE ONLY GAME WITH BISHOPS IN IT"...

Brilliant just brilliant.  I am so happy that you work so hard to make this site the best Chess Website in the world and am so glad to have paid a contribution to become a Premium Member.  Trust me, I shall be staying with this site for a long time now.

However, I would really love to invite people to a online chess club that I have made on this website.  It is a chess club for people located, living, working or having a connection to Korea so would an invite to country location be available soon?

I asked Erik and he mentioned that it would be a good idea to send messages to people in particular countries.  Come to think of it, it would be cool if Premium Members could organise Tournaments for certain locations in the world as well as international ones.

Please let me know of the invite to members of a certain location and if this is in the pipeline.

Ps - Love the site and am so glad to be a member of this community.

Wahey top job as ever guys cheers!

re yer reworking of the logo Erik, i recently changed my logo to yer April Fools one..the funky one with the .com curving upwards and a wee Jester image at the right side..  I really like this. Perhaps ye could replace the beta with an image of a King figure on the right, to balance the smaller image of the pawn on the left? Or something like that. With the words, "play, learn, share" already there, not sure more text wouldnt make it a bit "busy"?  The.com text curving is also very playful andi think speaks about the nature of the community here, ie not terribly stuffy, which is also something which could speak to potential new users. Depends on what image ye want to get across though, some may see it as "unprofessional".. i see it as brilliantly quirky and confident heh.

Cheers again :)

Scratch that, it isn't me at all.
