Spammed with Friend Invites?

Why am I being spammed with Friend invites? Every time I log onto Chess.com, I have 3-8 new Friend Requests, none of which I know. Is this happening to anyone else?

You can disable it in:

Settings —-> Privacy —-> “Allow incoming friend requests”

You can stop notifications with:

Settings —-> Noticifcations —-> “Notify me whenever… I get a new friend request”

Friend requests happen to everyone, this is normal. You can adjust your settings in the ways above.^

Seems odd, or that there are a ton of bots on Chess.com, just spamming people with friend requests. I've tried to challenge these new "friends" with games, but they're ignored, so are they even players?
