Chess.com is great. I've been on here over a decade. Before chess.com existed I was on ICC, Before that the MSN gaming zone..... lord I'm old. Anyway. I've noticed Li Chess speed in particularly bullet... why is it so much faster and smoother then any sight I've played on. Or am I the only one experiencing this?

No disrespect to Chess.com it's great for everything else. But since I saw this post I tried playing some bullet games on Lichess and it just felt much faster than here on Chess.com. In my opinion, when I played on Lichess when I would move a piece it felt much smoother and less choppy. I would consider playing Bullet on Lichess if they would allow you to have more than one premove at a time.

The short answer is: Lichess is made by 1 french amazing developer and is miles better programmed and thought out than chess.com. While I prefer chess.com UI, as a developer the technical part is just sad...

chess.com was bought by 2 salesmen.

Lichess was created by 1 good engineer.

This does not only apply to the chess world. Chess.com will have to hire a couple really good people and transition the back end. It will also be easily scalable then and cheaper to run.

Lichess is dirt cheap to run compared, that is why they can get away only with a bit of donations.
