The reason Blitz players are usually poorer at classical is because a lot, a majority only ever played or have played either Blitz or quickplay and when playing classical and they have 1:hour and 20 minutes to play a game all they know is to thrash out the moves, they cannot play slower so will play into inferior positions and a pure classical player will take advantage of this, happened to me recently in otb league game my opponent was thrashing the moves out he had used only 16 min to my 40 minutes but he was down an exchange and a pawn?!!
Standard chess sucks! Dumb at it, but why have I beaten dozens of 2000 rated in 960 blitz? :)

Standard chess sucks and Im 800 rated in it in blitz ha ha ha!
After winning a 960 blitz game, I always check the standard blitz rating of my opponent if he is good and to my surprise a lot of them are 2000 rated!!!
( my opponent above is 2010 rated in standard blitz
and he just resigned coz after my rook takes his pawn my mating attack is hard to stop)
Surprisingly during the past 4 months in 960 blitz, I have already beaten more than 2 dozens strong players whos blitz or bullet rating in standard chess is above 2000 including a Fide master, an Arena master, a 2600 & a 2400 rated OMG !!!
So how do you explain it???
