Starting at 1600 Points is hillarious!

Tried to play some games in daily. That´s normal. NORMAL? Nothing is normal nowadays. I was paired 5 times with buddies who had 1600 points. the first two times I was paired with the same person who played one move and gave up. the second played (very badly) and now it seems that the next two also don´t play.... And they all have 1600 points. I´ve after years of playing around 1650. why don´t they start with let´s say 100 points and have to prove that they are better? These (new) players get paired with people like me who are most likely much better. They are getting frustrated and quit. Is that what chess.com wants? I don´t know. I only know that I don´t want to be paired with people who start a game and don´t play.

I understand your frustration; I experienced a similar frustration with "advanced" accounts playing rapids. Fortunately, there is a way out for you!!

In your challenge, simply specify a minimum number of games your opponent has played. I suspect they implemented this feature precisely due to the problem of inaccurately rated accounts.

You can pick how advanced you are when you create an account. I think is reasonable. Also their elo drops rapidly if they lose on their first few matches(100-200 points per match)

No reason to deal w it when the system literally has an easy solution

Just set the min games to like 10 or something

This is true but most people who choose 1600 are far less than 1600 in my experience. For something like rapids, it's kind of not that bad for the reason you said, but daily games take a long time and I understand not wanting to waste your time playing a daily with an overrated "1600".

Thanks so much. That was a real helpful reply!
