David, just saw this thread and read back to some of the first posts. If I duplicate things said in between I apologize in advance. As a newer member that just used chess TV for the first time during the Anand-Topalov, a couple thoughts:
1. Video is for the whole show is overkill. If you started with video for the first 5-10 minutes (introduction and opening comments), then went to audio only during games, then closed with 5-10 minutes of video (closing comments), that would be plenty to still call in chess "TV." But when moving pieces on the board, audio only would actually be better, less distracting in my opinion. And more importantly, less costly.
2. As a premium member, I disagree with making it available only for paid members. If offering it to all members increases participation and interest, that will translate into more paid members in the future.
3. The idea of selling advertising is a good one. Even just a banner has value, like "Championship match coverage brought to you by __________." But chess.com has to pursue sponsors for this, just like radio stations market themselves and sell airtime. Even if you can only get a fraction of the cost initially, if it is pursued consistently over time the value will increase.
4. I've never tried "your games analyzed." I need to. You might increase participation by soliciting games from premium members, or even asking them to vote which games they'd like to see analyzed.
Just a few thoughts. I like what I've seen so far and hope you continue to pursue chess tv.

i'm sure it was!!
