I highly recommend the tactics trainer.  it definitely has taught me to look for things I wouldn't have been aware of.  great feature.

I've noticed a marked improvement in my game, especially at blitz since completing about 1,000 tactic problems.

yep, I totally agree - the Tactics Trainer is one of the better learning tools on this site.  I use it quite a bit!
