That was hilarious!
But I have been at Chess.com for over a year(with a little break in between), and had not seen a 'Why aren't women good at chess' thread the whole time! When one popped up, it was dismissed by someone immediately, referring them to the archives. I think making new threads is just fine. The ones who are sick of it can ignore it, or have fun with it.

by ancient I mean 1+ year old...there are like 100+ resignation threads floating about that are current;they can post in there.

It's fascinating to discover that the set of behaviours which some people find laudable - others rate as execrable, c.f. 7-deadly-sins.
(This applies to site features too.)
What irritates me is someone creating a forum in which all the first 20 posts are his !
