this can be construed as a type of racism but no offence is meant or directed as an didrogatiory toward people's country's. do players from the same country play the same way? as a low level player I find players from India play a very queen heavy game. Russians will never sign off with a GG. USA loves an emoji 😂. bringing this back to chess and less chat rooms how do you find your style and where are you from?

Not that I've noticed, no.

Even in a small chess club of just 5 people, there will be different types of players. It'd be strange for an entire nation to play the same way, especially considering how the internet has made the same information accessible to everyone.

Styles are more associated with someone's personality.

Yes there's differences but personalities and personal styles are just that. Countries also have a nationwide personality and way of thinking that I can also definitely see, especially for India, Northern Europe and the USA.

As for Indians, they have different mathematical ways of thinking and that seems to translate to chess - sometimes I can beat it and sometimes I crumble - but never do I fully grasp the way they're reasoning.

And also Belgian players in the sense that i always beat them tongue.png
