The absolute state of chess dot com censorship

We cannot call this artificial intelligence. Its about as far removed from intelligence as you can get. Its just a list of words that someone has deemed to be unacceptable entirely without any contextual reference whatsoever.
People have argued that the alternatives are even worse? How so? how is censoring perfectly acceptable terms worse than no censorship at all? Seriously? Its creating censorship where there is absolutely no need.
I consider it an attempt not to censor bad language but to change behavior, a rather plastic and transparent psyops. Prove me wrong!

Rather ironically I bet this thread gets censored XD

I cannot even post a link to the painting because the absolute state of chess dot com censorship prevents me from embedding the hyperlink because it contains an unutterable term that someone has deemed inappropriate.
Are we getting that? We cannot post links to classical works of art because some code monkey's algorithm has no concept of contextual awareness.

Try to be less articulate and limit our expressive language to conform to chess dot coms sanitised soulless Dalek

This is becoming more prevalent outside of just chess dot com. Most games or forums are heavily censoring any speech containing certain words, regardless of context. It's gotten to a pretty bad point.

Wtf, you can't even post the link?! That's really bad
I was speaking about ai in a sense that to be able to discern and censor vast amounts of data some kind of similar tech must be needed, it's stupid either way

Its in their TOS: Thou shall not use bad, icky words that might offend the parents of children on our site who pay for their premium membership.

Yes indeed a link to an Italian museum featuring world renowned works of art cannot make it past the brain-dead censorship and I thought David the Mod was bad!

I think comparing the soulless cyborgs of chess.com censorship with the Daleks does not do honor to the latter😼

Did you ever think that maybe the link has a virus built into it and Chess.com doesn't want that on their site?

Nah, it is just a bad sequence of symbols in it

Chess.com wanted to encourage civil postings in its forums. That seems like a reasonable goal to me.
Having some kind of automated filter catches a lot of the problems and is a minor annoyance at worst.
The examples you have posted aren't very convincing. I don't think that the automated censor is stifling intelligent debate. I doubt that there are many art students or armorers who have been censored.

What is it about censoring perfectly acceptable words that you are having difficulty with? What is it about being prevented from posting links and references to fine art that yet evades you? It does not "catch" problems it creates them where none actually exist. Why you think that is acceptable is known only to you.
My friend in a private club in a thread about art attempts to post the painting
Ecce H0mo (text altered) by Antonio Ciseri, a depiction of Christ before Pilate and has to amend the title
I attempt to use the well known English phrase "a ch1ink in his armour" (text altered) and again find myself censored and must amend the text using numerical symbols.
Who on earth thought this a good idea?
If we dare to post an excerpt from a third party its gets censored and we must trawl through the entire text trying to identify the nefarious word in order to amend it to bypass censorship of readily understood and PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE English terms and phrases.
Its like some kind of throw back to the 1980's when you could purchase a machine, insert a list of terms and have the algorithm censor them. In fact its even worse than that, for not only do you not know which terms are acceptable and which are rejected, at least the machine from 1980 would substitute less offensive ones.
I realise that chess dot com wants to sanitise the forums for whatever reason, but this is beyond the pale when you start to censor perfectly acceptable terminology simply for the sake of censorship itself.
