I haven't seen that either. Maybe you are confusing his April Fools blog when he said he would quit chess with him telling you to quit chess?

Yeah I would never seriously tell someone to quit. If I did then it would have been a joke 

I would tell someone to take a break if they really needed it, but that's it.

That was a joke. This was a mainly humorous comment section at the time, so Lightning probably thought you were joking. If you look at @assassin3752's comment, he says that the blog has over 3k views. It doesn't yet. Clearly Lightning was just going with the flow of the comments. But hey, it's an April Fools post. It's to be expected.

I was clearly joking/ being sarcastic in the comments there just look at my other replies 

And before your comment, @Gump_forest said it's a good day to quit chess, which was clearly a joke, so you posting that you might quit chess just after that clearly seems like a transition from that joke.

Well, here's a solution. Don't post a comment that serious in the comment section of an April Fools thread where everyone is making jokes! Make a thread asking for advice or message some friends about it and ask them!

There is no way. All the evidence pointed to that being a joke. He just posted that in the wrong place and got offended when you gave him an obviously joking suggestion.
