This is the last classical game of the Candidates. We are at move 24, and everyone is saying 24.e4 is a devastating move for Grischuk to deal with. I don't think it's all that scary, but we do have ourselves a very good chess game here!
The Candidates!

Stockfish evaluates Gelfand's position as +1.61 at least! If you've been watching the last three games, that is pretty much the highest evaluation we've seen the whole match for Gelfand! Could this be the game that sends Gelfand to a title match?

Yes. It's not looking good for Grischuk. He has less than six minutes for over ten moves, in a difficult position. This could be it!

Yay, he has a good score according to the engine now, I CERTAINLY hope he delivers the win, especially in classical games! GO GELFAND!!!

Wow! I mean, WOW!!
It will be Anand against Gelfand for the World Chess Championship!!!!

Thankyou for hosting!
Much as I like Gelfand, I can't see him beating Anand. However, I'm pretty sure we'll have a match played in a good spirit, free of some of the accusations and idiocy of recent years.

A great way to end a somewhat boring and monotonous tournament. Boris has a little bit less than a year to get ready for the Championship match but it won't change the fact that Anand will lay the SmackDown on him.

Thank you for reading, NY5!

He did it, yes! This made me laugh cheerfully in this otherwise crappy day. Kudos and thanks to Gelfand, he had shared 2nd place at mexico championship with Kramnik, and achieved his spot in the candidates by a great performance in the world cup, he played the most interesting game (rook against pawns), he made the most interesting novelty (b5), he mostly played uncompromisingly, he definitely deserved this.
It would really really eat me up inside if I would see Grischuk once again offering draws with white before move 15 against Anand. Congratulations to Gelfand!!!

Indeed! Gelfand shocked the world today, and after two decades has his chance for the title. Well deserved!
if they carry any games, which is very unlikely at this point, it'll be mentioned on the TV Page or they'll message me about it and then announced in the Official Chess.com/TV Group. I will also mention it in my blog series about this event if they do cover the last game or the tie-breakers.
