Even many video game developers today realize it's unhealthy that people spend dozens of hours a week on their games.
That said, these trophies on chess.com are won not by skill, but by simply playing many hours a day - it's a competition on who wants to sacrifice the most hours that week.
A 400 rated player can win all the trophies if they simply play 10 hours a day. It's sad you reward people to have no life.
Do away with the trophies and come up with a way that's not rewarding who spends the most hours a day playing and show mercy on those who will ruin all their free time to get that digital trophy.
