Thank God...I dont understand the uncontrollable urge to constantly post 15 pages of "easy", and the need to be on the first page to post "first!"
I don't know how to feel about this. On the one hand, we probably won't get as many stupid comments anymore - e.g. first, easy, Yui is love (sorry bestpony - I like your comments, but they are not always relevant to the puzzle)!
But on the other hand, it seems a bit drastic. I'm not a premium member, and I have no intention of ever being, so I am being punished because certain members can't help being idiots.
But Martin, you're a diamond member, yet you say that you see this in V3. So, do you see this message too? Are you also unable to post in the Daily Puzzle now? Have they effectively removed *all* commenting privileges, including from premium members?

You will still be able to solve the puzzle correct? Which is the main idea.

This forum is reserved for our Premium Chess.com Members. All users are allowed to read the contents of this forum, but only those who have purchased a Premium Chess.com Membership can post here.
Oh, I see! I didn't expect it to show up to premium members too.
Honestly, I think the comments will essentially be much the same in the Daily Puzzle, just that the quantity of posts will be much much smaller. But maybe that will also mean they will have an easier time monitoring comments to ensure that they are on topic. And they will keep doing that until they've conditioned the comments to sway from the earlier posting culture and instead people are encouraged to analyse etc the puzzle. Maybe? Truthfully I don't think that will happen, though. And it must be acknowledged that plenty of quality analysis would come from non-premium members, who won't be able to post anymore. Also, of course the fact that many puzzles are too simplistic to even encourage any meaningful discussion, like most Sunday-Thursday puzzles.
Oh well, it's still too early to say. Tomorrow it will be interesting to see what the puzzle comments will look like!

It is - I agree. But I do like to have the option to post my constructive feedback to chess.com.
Not a big loss though. There are many other forums on this site to post stuff.
They must have done that recently, because non-premiums have posted there today. I guess a few more memberships will be sold.

IF chess.com would limit posts to constructive posts, and get rid all the crap like "first", "easy", cartoons, and the usual useless bs that contributes absolutely nothing to the puzzle page i agree that anyone should be allowed to post. But since we know that not to be true, this is what happens.
If you support reversing the change, let's suggest it here

I haven't watched it, and I'm calling his posts crap, not the anime itself.

It was open to posting for me maybe 30 minutes before I opened this forum topic. Then I turned my attention somewhere else and when I checked back I noticed the comments box was removed and I saw the notification.
I believe the day may have come at last, my lads! Chess.com seem to have taken to the ultimate solution for handling the Daily Puzzle by limiting posting to premium members (NB Update: nobody can post there, not even premium members)! My assumption being that this is to limit off topic posting there. As far as I'm aware, this is the only forum that is completely restricted like this, really highlighting how drastic a measure this is, indeed! Or maybe it's just some site glitch and it'll be resolved by the end of the day, what do I know? This happened only within the last minutes, after all, so it's too early to say anything yet.
It's an interesting finding nonetheless! A tad bit exaggeratingly drastic, in my view, but, assuming it's here to stay, it'll be amusing to follow and see how it affects the quality of the Daily Puzzle comments!
No matter what, I'll always cherish our funposting memories there! It was nice getting to know you, dear Daily Puzzle!
