"The only person who has control right now is the chess.com staff". Even THEY don't have control. By agreeing to be an international site......you also agree to every countries rules. "

The German penal code prohibits publicly denying the Holocaust and disseminating Nazi propaganda, both off- and online. This includes sharing images such as swastikas, wearing an SS uniform and making statements in support of Hitler.

It also places strict rules on how social media companies must moderate and report hate speech and threats. Now I know,....your gonna say, Ronnie, none of this was in support of Hitler. The OP could of bloged about the game in question and simply said......"this game was play by a man from Germany, and a man from Russia".

show me the research, I will not believe you until I see proof, that was how I was raised and to prove your point you need proof

*busy schedule* bro aren't you a senior now

bro I finished up my freshman year a month ago and I just got back from a 3 week long vacation 💀💀

didn't you say you were older than me

originally i was gonna say freshman but i said senior because im becoming junior next year and you said you were older than me

I'm entering my sophomore year this upcoming semester. Compared to the rest of my age I started relatively late for my grade level because my parents didn't want me to be on the younger spectrum of my friend group, and also because in the early beginnings of my life I resided in Seattle, which I believe is a national outlier when it comes to the age at which students are required to be registered for school. Also, being homeschooled, I would say that the education level attributed to each grade are substantially different compared to public/private schools.

Watch as the couple dozen ppl here change the whole structure of chess.com lol. I'd say this conversation is done. We've expressed our support of Hornet, now it's up to cc to decide what they'll do. Yes, it's unfair, but it's just about over.

I'm not actually opposed to them striking a hitter post, but I think the way they went about it was wrong. They should have asked hornet red bonnet to take down the post, and given him a warning about posting possibly inflammatory content.

Yeah @HornetCruise, I'm glad a lot more people know about the situation, but to be honest, I'm a bit glad the conversation is over, people talking of boycott, and spamming stuff, it was support at first and then political stuff and it goes downhill from there. This forum reached the top of the Community posts. And it has 307 comments. I'm sure there could be a lot more. I think chess.com will notice, or has already notice. I hope for the best.

That's taken me into a little more insight into this, but like Orca said, that was handled poorly, but Colin did say this did not go against the rules. And also there is no way Hornet can keep the two opponent anonymous, no one will read it. But that is true, the evidence is there...

"not inflammatory to any race, religion, political party, gender, or nationality"
I think the problem might be some parts of the blog including debatable history and politics, like the end part about Hitler and Lenin.

They are playing it safe increasing censorship against topics that has anything to do with sensitive subjects or symbols or people. Whether one thinks that is ok or not (and I draw no such conclusions to either side in my reply here), it's really simple to see what is the motivation behind. They simply don't want to take any chances and therefore rather choose increased censorship and less freedom of expression of users than risk some kind of potential backlash or accusations of chess.com by allowing what some could perceive as deplorable content/people/symbols on their platform, even if such accusations may not even be slightly true.
