I found chess.com by internet search for "Chess Mentor". I joined without hesitation because Chess.com offered more than any other chess site for members both free and premium. It is a very friendly environment, user-friendly too, and easy to navigate. I really appreciate having a chess.com e-mail address because my ISP is wireless. I've been spending most of my time on Chess.com in Chess Mentor and Tactics Trainer. I usually do the daily puzzle and enjoy checking out the chess news, blogs, and Forum posts. Chess.com has boosted my chess morale. Many thanks!

I have also used "Play against the Computer", "Games and Opening Explorer", "Endless Chess Quiz", "Chess Books and Equipment Database", and participated in "Surveys". As mentioned before, I read "Chess Articles", "Blogs", "Forums" and "Chess News", and more. I have pretty much checked out the whole site except for the on-line play environment. Give me time -- I just got here!
I'm new, not only to the site but to the game! I found it on google, can't remember but I think I typed "play chess online" or similar. I used to play when I was little (~ 20 years ago!) with my dad and he asked for a tactics book for his birthday, flicking through it before wrapping it up got me interested again and I wanted to learn how to play.
I normally do the daily puzzle, tactics trainer, browse the forums and play unrated games online. I've also done the quizzes and looked at openings. I don't use the mentor as I bought Chessmaster 10th edition which has a similar academy style teaching guide. Everyone I've met online so far has been really nice, not minded playing me unrated, and I've learnt a lot and really feel I've improved in the last month or so.
My best achievement so far has been a stalemate against my dad last week! I'll get him soon!
I shall look at the sitemap to see if there's anything I've missed but the site's pretty well laid out so hopefully I've explored most of it.
