i don't think it really means anything except that mods will look into your games and decide if it is true.

Mods moderate the forums, they don't get involved in chess game side of things, unless they happen to do both jobs independently!

everything can be abused. its just another opportunity for irresponsible users to try to sabotage remote opponents. i've had a couple of threatening emails from chess.com saying they'd had reports of abusive behaviour when there was nothing of the sort. just sour grapes. i've been abused loads of times but i'm an adult and not a grass. younger generation is so thin-skinned.

it's good the OP questions this system :) I do not see how it's useful either. In bullet I meet many sore losers who complain about losing on time (then why do you play bullet? but okay...0_o) and they can easily vote you a bad sports. do we really want those players who call you "pathetic", "stupid" and even a "b****" to be able to judge about YOU?

I usually try to forget it but there are players who get more effected by it and do we really want those fair players (kids too) to wait longer and get matched with bad sports who insult them because those same bad sports were able to judge them?

if that's what the system does I want to ask this to be solved :) if that's not what the system does, then I really do not see what the voting system adds since you can already report players for bad behaviour

Comment #10 if that one is true, it really disappoints me how people trust the players here to be able to judge objectively about each other.

It doesn't work like "oh behave good and you get matched with good sports" like explained in my previous post.

assuming someone behaved bad if they get matched with bad sports and trusting this system to be correct/fair is pretty naive in my opinion
