Trolls wrecking havoc in clubs

I recently read about an organized group of members who slowly join a club. They try to get one of their friends to an admin position and then start throwing people out. Not quite sure how widespread this is sitewise.

Fascinating, thanks for sharing. The troller bragged about having multiple puppet accounts in our club, which is quite concerning.

It was probably a better idea to post this in the Forum Elite forums, because I dont think theres much chess.com can do.

I guess just be more careful when letting people in

I don't see what the purpose of the thread was anyway. Even if he posted it in the club I don't really see what could have been done.

how people get kicked out for saying, "RAR!" a few times (like in a sentence, not just spamming RAR) and dont get kicked for this nonsense is beyond me.

(no, im not salty, i chose to leave of my own accord)

once youve resolved this  you then can protect the club bu insisting any new applicants are time served at cc  be that for 6 months / a year  etc ,, also insist they have daily games played on their profile  this will weed out new accounts and those who aint on this site for chess

this may sound harsh but not having these entry requirements to your group can lead to the issues you are presently encountering

Khannate1

ok so that brings on step two ,,,,,,,invites can only be issued by admins ,,, the senior admin has to demote all admins  then re instate one at a time to see if the problem re occurs  if it does youve found the admin doing it or narrowed it down and can then act more fairly in sorting this

Khannate1

there is also a non admin way to be invited  its rare but it might be the reason

archived invites  a cc member can archive all messages  so an old invite may still be valid just click join and hey presto you are in

to get around that ,,,,,,,,,,,,,change the name of the club so old archived invites do not work anymore

now i think about it  im leaning to this being how this person keeps turning up after being kicked out / banned  so i hope this helps  and you can just be what you want to be  an active cc club that wants the best for its members
